The association was founded in September 2005 with the primary purpose of strengthening the social community across IMADA’s study programmes. Since then, however, the scope and responsibilities of the Student Council have grown.
All IMADA students are automatically members of the association. This currently includes, among others, students of Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Mathematics-Economics, Quantum Computing, as well as students taking IMADA subjects as a minor.
Today, the Student Council is still primarily focused on maintaining social activities at the department, but it is also actively involved in student politics. The Student Council aims to have members represented in, or at the very least maintain contact with a student representative in, all important bodies at SDU. In this way, the Student Council can help ensure that IMADA students are represented as strongly as possible throughout the university.
The Student Council also serves as a link between the department and the students. Each year, a evaluation report is completed by the students in collaboration with the Student Council. Conversely, the Student Council also assists the department whenever students are needed for various events or tasks.
